for the bride to be: sarah
We have had SO many brides ask us where to buy the "details" they see in our pictures....
Details truly make your day 1000x prettier, so we're happy to help source items that will fit your day!
I'm such a visual person - so I find lists help! So here are some options for details and ways to make your wedding EPIC.
You can click on the image to find the source to most of them! :)
how to get the perfect invitation without breaking the bank
Our favourite kinds of invitations to photograph - are neutral, beautiful with detailing. Go for a CHEAP option (invitations can be in the thousands!) as your guests will inevitably bin your invitation, so don't break the bank - go for simple and pretty, and then try our trick below!
You already have your invitations printed? No problem! Skip to the next step below!
- OR - opt for a simple invite that you print at home/Staples yourself - OR opt like these simple/affordable invites on Etsy: (links attached)
Now get ONLY ONE fancy invitation made.
Your "real" invitation can be anything: simple, plain, and inexpensive. Instead, create one "keepsake" invitation with an artist! :)
Have a calligrapher or wedding invitation designer make you ONE full invitation suite for us to PHOTOGRAPH on the morning of your wedding!
Way less expensive!
We highly recommend Plume Calligraphy - she is the best in the biz and does this very thing for brides! She is our definite favourite! Simply describe your wedding style and colours to her - she'll do the rest and come up with something BEAUTIFUL.
IDEAL FOR PHOTOS: an invitation "suite" typically has an envelope, rsvp card, return mini envelope, perhaps a wax seal, perhaps name cards, perhaps a map or illustration connecting to your theme. Your Calligrapher will know what to include! Email Aileen of Plume and she will know what to do once you describe your wedding!
WHERE TO BUY bride's
I would highly recommend intentionally wearing a cute "getting ready" outfit as we'll be taking lots of pictures in the morning!
Much better than a t-shirt or regular pj's! Rompers, wraps, and robes are perfect! It's a plus if your girls have them - but as long as our bride has one, we are happy!
Here are some recommendations:
- Lace Romper from Show Me Your Mumu
- Bohemian Romper
- Mute Colours Romper
- Pale Blue Romper
- Pink Silk Kimono
- Dusty Rose Romper
- Pretty Plum Sugar Robes & Rompers
- Etsy Blush Robe
OUR ABSOLUTE FAVOURITES - ALL FROM BHLDN:
- Botanic Garden Robe
- Candlelight Robe
- Midsummer Night Robe
- Jolie Robe
- Violetta Robe
- Chantilly Lingerie Set
(we love shooting some delicate bridal portraits if you're considering getting something pretty - just let us know if you'd like to! ....they make a great surprise for your hubby later!)

If you need more suggestions, let me know! Thank you for taking it seriously and knowing the details are worthwhile -
it's literally ALL in the details when it comes to our photos! The more textures, items, trays - the better!
If you guys feel like a trip to vintage or thrift shops - sometimes there are cheap great trays, decanters and coup glasses!
I really hope this all helps!
Some visuals side by side can sometimes help sway your decision making - let me know if you need more help!

Check out our suggested style & colour combinations here: Richelle Hunter Photography | Mixed Bridesmaids Dresses Inspiration Board.
- Lulu's has tons of variety
- Missguided is a great option with affordable prices
- Aidan Mattox is an awesome brand! You can find his gowns and lots more at Nordstrom.
- Jenny Yoo of course is always wonderful
- Show Me Your Mumu has gorgeous and very flattering, flowy styles
